entre les trous de la mémoire

I'm heading down to Portland tomorrow with some friends and will be staying there till next wed. Exciting! I've been to OR before, but not Portland. Yeah, I don't know how that happened. I stayed in Bend, OR for like a week when I was still in high school. I'm not sure what's good in Portland (I heard it's pretty and like a small scaled Seattle?) and travelling with three guys is just something I've never done before. hmm...hopefully it will work out.

Ok, this is pretty much the only thing I'm stoked about: Yes, The Powell's!! I've been wanting to go visit that huge bookstore for a long time. They have an incredibly large collection of all used, new, rare and out-of-print books. So I'm assuming I can find every book I can think of there.

Here are some of the books I will be particularly looking for first:

Firmin by Savage
Handle With Care by Picoult
Climate Confusion by Spencer
some collections of Shelley and maybe Yeats?
collections of H. Melville
my very favorite Chinese classic --Dream of the Red Chamber. It's amazing. I've always wanted to see the english version of it but unfortunately haven't found one yet. Let's hope they have it, let's hope (they better do)... ;)

Maybe I should asked my friends to drop me off there and come back to pick me up after three days.

I don't care whatever else they have down in that city, I love Portland already for the Powell's :D
